A few minutes after 7pm the hostess informed us that our table was ready and we could be seated anytime. Would have loved to have ordered one of the old fashioned's with pickled mushroom garnish highlighted on Wisconsin Foodie but we stuck with our usual Ketel one with seltzer and two limes. The bartenders, hostess and all the staff were so friendly! We ordered cocktails since we arrived early and enjoyed conversations with our group and bartenders. We walked into the front entrance and found seats at the bar. The restaurant is an old Inn and it's been wonderfully restored and updated.A beautiful building in this historic town. We found a parking spot in the back and walked around to the front. The drive down from Appleton was picturesque and beautiful with farm fields and communities along the way. We had never heard of Saint Cloud, Wi (population 477). Great crowd for a Saturday night but not uncomfortably packed. We were glad we did, since even at 7 pm there would have been a wait. We made reservations a few days prior for 7pm. We never knew it existed prior to the Foodie segment! My bride and I had the opportunity to experience this supper club with another couple this past Saturday night. We became aware of this restaurant after seeing it profiled on Wisconsin Foodie. It is a dining experience you need to have. If you are within a 60 mile radius, whether on business or maybe you live that close, get out your GPS and drive to St Cloud, WI. Brenda is a Harley-riding woman who loves what she does. The bartender, Steve, has been with them for a long time, too. Dave and Brenda have run this restaurant since 1990. Brenda, one of the waitresses, is the other owner. Most of the desserts are home made and worth a try. As with Sweet Basil, the wine list is a little light but the selections they have are good, and you are not gouged by the prices. The soup and the bread are simply fantastic.

My meal came with soup, salad and home made bread. It comes with two strips of bacon, which is from the meat locker right across the street. The thing is, my wife refuses to make it at home due to the smell (or should I say the aroma!). I ordered it as soon as I saw it on the menu. Even though there are some really outstanding options on the menu, I chose the liver and onions. The food is fantastic and plated beautifully. He is not classically trained but you couldn't tell. That's great but what makes people come to what seems like the middle of nowhere to eat? Let's start with Dave, one of the owners. The ambiance is wonderful, as it still has the old hotel charm.

I had met the owners of Idlewile Supper Club, Brenda and Dave, a couple of nights earlier at their sister restaurant in Plymouth, Sweet Basil. My last night in town on business, I had to make the trek to the small town of St Cloud, population 477.
